Palm Beach County has postponed the zoning hearing for Project Tango, a controversial AI data center, from April 23 to July 15 at the request of the project's agent. The project faces significant community opposition due to concerns about its proximity to schools and residential areas. The postponement was an administrative change, requiring no county commission vote.

The highly contested AI data center known as Project Tango has had its zoning hearing in Palm Beach County postponed from April 23 to July 15. The delay was requested by the project's agent, Carlton Fields, and the county announced the change via a Facebook post.
This administrative change means no immediate vote by the Board of County Commissioners was required. The project, proposed as a hyperscale AI data center campus, would be located near Saddle View Elementary School and the Arden community in western Palm Beach County.
Local residents, including concerned parents, educators, and community leaders, have actively opposed Project Tango. They gathered outside Saddle View Elementary in early April to urge officials to reject the development, citing concerns about its proximity to schools and residential neighborhoods. Opponents also voiced their concerns at a February county commission meeting, highlighting issues such as significant electricity and water demands for cooling.
