At its July 20 meeting, the Damascus Township Board of Supervisors in Pennsylvania heard public comments regarding the ongoing development of a data center ordinance. While no specific data center project has been proposed for Damascus Township, the Planning Commission is actively preparing a regulatory proposal.
Residents voiced various concerns during the public comment period. Barbara Arrindell advocated for comprehensive sound, air, and water studies, specifically recommending the dBC scale for sound to detect low-frequency noise. Kyle Devlin, a candidate for Pennsylvania Assembly District 111, inquired about the finalization process for the ordinance, referencing similar issues in Clinton Township.
The proposed ordinance is slated for review by the Township Solicitor and the Wayne County Planning Commission. Following these reviews, the plan will be made available for public review, and a public hearing will be scheduled before any adoption, ensuring community input on the regulations.
