Palm Beach County has postponed a vote on Project Tango, a proposed data center, until July 15. The delay allows the project's agent, Joseph Verdone, more time to address community concerns regarding environmental, health, safety, water, power, and noise impacts. Neighbors have actively opposed the project.

Palm Beach County has deferred a vote on 'Project Tango,' a proposed data center situated between Southern Boulevard and 20 Mile Bend, until July 15. The postponement follows concerns raised by nearby residents regarding potential environmental, health, and safety impacts, as well as issues related to increased power, heat, excessive water usage, and noise.
Joseph Verdone, an agent for Project Tango, requested the delay to allow more time for making changes to address community feedback and to coordinate with county staff and elected officials. The applicant has engaged in outreach, including creating a website to provide information and address concerns, while opposition groups have launched 'Stop Project Tango' campaigns.
Project Manager Ernie Cox presented a new draft site plan in an April 8 video, indicating ongoing adjustments from an earlier plan. In a related development, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced plans to sign a measure imposing restrictions on massive data centers, requiring the Florida Public Service Commission to ensure large load customers bear their full cost of service.
