Pike Township community members voice concerns over potential data center

A proposed data center in Pike Township is drawing questions from neighbors and local officials as the number of data facilities continues to grow across central Indiana. American Tower Company presented plans Wednesday night to the Pike Township Residents Association for a 20,000-square-foot, unmanned data center on about seven acres near 79th Street and Township Line Road. The greater Indianapolis area now has about 40 data centers either operating or in progress, according to a data center tracking website.
