Commissioner Brad Chandler, who voted against the rezoning, maintained his stance, emphasizing concerns for local residents. Other commissioners who voted in favor highlighted potential future incentives, including tax revenue and job creation, arguing these benefits serve the public's best interest. Developer Drew Nat also provided a statement to WXII, indicating that permits are expected to be secured within the next 18 months, after which the project will break ground.
