TeraWulf plans to accelerate and double the expansion of its Muskie Data Campus at EastPark near Ashland, increasing contracted electric demand from 500 megawatts to 1 gigawatt. Kentucky Power plans to add generating capacity at the Big Sandy Power Plant and says the agreement could provide residential customers with $100 million in winter bill credits, pending approval by the Kentucky Public Service Commission.
TeraWulf plans to expand its proposed Muskie Data Campus at the EastPark industrial park near Ashland ahead of schedule. The project’s second 500-megawatt phase would be delivered in 2029 rather than 2030, bringing the campus’s contracted demand to 1 gigawatt; TeraWulf also says the facility could eventually double in size again.
Kentucky Power plans to add a generating unit at the Big Sandy Power Plant near Louisa to support the expansion. Under the amended agreement, TeraWulf would fund an estimated $100 million in winter bill credits for Kentucky Power residential customers over the first 10 years, but the agreement and related construction plans still require approval from the Kentucky Public Service Commission.
