Grayslake neighbors ask Lake County judge to block data center construction
Grayslake residents have sued to stop T5 Data Centers from building a massive data center, alleging the village approved the project without adequate public feedback and in violation of zoning laws. A Lake County judge heard arguments from the residents and the village, which is seeking dismissal, and is expected to rule by Dec. 30.
A coalition of Grayslake residents is seeking to block T5 Data Centers’ proposed data center through a lawsuit against the Village of Grayslake. The residents allege the village approved the project without giving nearby residents sufficient opportunity to comment and violated zoning requirements.
The village has asked a Lake County judge to dismiss the case and says the project could generate about $18 billion in private investment. Attorneys for both sides presented arguments Friday, and the judge is expected to decide by Dec. 30.
