Company says Clarksville data center could bring $558M to community

Serverfarm is constructing a $6.6 billion data center campus in Clarksville, Arkansas, an investment that includes significant mechanical and electrical systems for long-term operations. The company estimates the project will generate approximately $558 million in local public benefits by 2060, alongside creating thousands of construction jobs and an estimated 150 to 400 indirect regional jobs once operational.
The development has personal implications for longtime resident Ronnie Betner, whose family land, located near the site off Arkansas Highway 123, is being acquired for the project. Betner expressed mixed emotions about leaving his childhood home but stated that Serverfarm representatives had been fair throughout the buyout process, explaining the project at city council meetings and meeting with him individually.
In connection with the project, the Clarksville City Council is scheduled to conduct two public hearings on bonds tied to the development, one for Hatchbo LLC and another for SF ARK1 LLC. The council will also vote on PILOT (Payment In Lieu Of Taxes) tax agreements for both companies, as well as a Community Development Grant Agreement.
