Opponents of the "Project Blue" data center in the Tucson area are escalating their tactics, shifting focus to target private businesses associated with the development. The group, identifying itself as "The Choi Brigade," issued a statement to KGUN 9, announcing that demonstrations would now confront companies involved in the project, in addition to the proposed construction site itself. These new tactics were demonstrated by a "noise protest" conducted inside the private offices of the law firm Lazarus in Sylvan, which represents Beale Infrastructure, the company developing the data center. The Choi Brigade's statement emphasized this as a new phase in the opposition to data centers in the Tucson area. Beale Infrastructure responded to the incident, condemning the actions as trespassing and threatening. A company spokesperson stated that "a group of masked individuals trespassed into the offices of one of our partners in Tucson and threatened staff." While supporting the right to peaceful protest, Beale Infrastructure denounced the behavior, asserting that their employees and partners are fellow Arizona neighbors who deserve respect. The Tucson Police Department's Threat Mitigation Unit is reportedly responding to the incident.
