Owasso Public Schools anticipates long-term benefits from data center project
A new Google and BEAL data center, named Project Clyde, has been announced north of Tulsa, specifically impacting Owasso. Owasso Public Schools anticipate long-term benefits from the project, including opportunities for students in emerging technology, internships, and STEM-focused learning.
The Tulsa Regional Chamber announced "Project Clyde," a new data center developed by Google and BEAL, located just north of Tulsa, off US-75/76. The Owasso Chamber of Commerce anticipates this project will bring significant long-term benefits to Owasso Public Schools. Chelsea Phiri, President of the Owasso Chamber of Commerce, stated the data center would be a "transformational moment" for Owasso's economy, creating new jobs and offering sustained advantages for the school district.
Jordan Korff, Director of Communications for Owasso Public Schools, shared the district's excitement, noting that Google Workspace and Google Classroom are already integral to students' daily learning. The district looks forward to exploring new opportunities for students, including connecting with emerging technology, internships, mentorships, and STEM-focused learning experiences provided by the data center. PSO will supply power to the facility, with construction funded by BEAL.
