DC Edge founder and CEO Doug Recker publicly discussed the company's data center expansion within an existing building at Corporate Ridge in Columbus, Georgia. Recker clarified that DC Edge focuses on smaller-scale data centers, unlike the "huge data centers" often associated with the industry, aiming not to disrupt communities.

The facility, previously a TSYS data center, is expected to be operational by the end of September and will offer computing and data space to a range of end users, including local hospitals and businesses, rather than a single large customer. Recker emphasized that the Columbus facility will have a maximum capacity of 20 megawatts, distinguishing it from hyperscale operations.

This marks DC Edge's first property in Georgia, adding to their 11 smaller centers in Texas.
