Gov: Box Elder County commissioners
Box Elder County commissioners are set to vote on the approval of a large artificial intelligence data center in the western part of the county on Monday. O'Leary Digital, the company behind the proposed project, has committed to environmental protection measures and claims the facility will benefit local communities.
Paul Palandjian, CEO and co-founder of O'Leary Digital, told KSL that the associated power plant, designed to produce nearly 9 gigawatts of electricity, would generate only 5% of the carbon emissions of comparable plants. Palandjian also stated that the project seeks a power production method that does not require water, with electricity likely generated on-site via natural-gas-fired plants supplied by the Ruby Pipeline.
