A protest against data center development took place today on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Community members convened to voice their opposition to both the specific development and any future data centers within the state. Despite inclement weather, several political candidates seeking office attended the event and shared their perspectives on data centers in Pennsylvania with reporters.

This Wilkes-Barre protest was one of nearly 200 similar demonstrations scheduled across the nation. A participant underscored the collective responsibility, stating, "It's not a you or me issue. It's an us, a we, and our issue, and we need to stand together, show up, and put the pressure on your supervisors to protect every community everywhere." Additional data center protests were also reported to be scheduled in other Pennsylvania locations, including Danville, Lewistown, and Muncy.
