Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry officially announced a new multi-billion-dollar Artificial Intelligence (AI) data center, named Delta Forge One, is coming to Boyce in Rapides Parish. The project, owned by Applied Digital, is valued at $3.6 billion and is expected to bring 200 direct full-time jobs with an average salary of approximately $90,000.
Rob Laperle of KALB reported from England Airpark following Governor Landry's announcement. Richard Nottenburg, a Director with Applied Digital, stated that while the negotiation stage is largely complete, the work is just beginning. Applied Digital plans to address what Nottenburg referred to as "misinformation" regarding the center's potential impact on local utility rates. CLECO is slated to handle 100 percent of the center's power requirements.
