Google’s Botetourt data center won’t get requested water capacity, director says

Michael McEvoy, Executive Director of the Western Virginia Water Authority, has confirmed that the Authority will not provide the 10 to 11 million gallons of water per day requested by Google for its proposed data center campus in Botetourt County. This decision was communicated in an email exchange that was shared with the Roanoke Times. The Google data center project had previously held an information open house at Lord Botetourt High School.
