New Haven, Kentucky, Enacts 12-Month Data Center Moratorium

Dooley Mattingly was appointed to the New Haven Board of Commissioners last Thursday, filling the vacancy left by the late Mike Morris. Mattingly will serve until December and expressed his commitment to community service, including a potential write-in campaign for the upcoming election. He also stated his intention to donate his commissioner pay to Morris' family.
During the same special-called meeting, the New Haven City Commissioners unanimously passed a 12-month moratorium on data center development within the city. This temporary halt aims to provide the Joint City-County Planning and Zoning body sufficient time to establish comprehensive policies and guidelines for data centers, while also allowing city officials to assess existing infrastructure capacity and long-term planning objectives.
