U.S. Energy Secretary visits QTS data center in Cedar Rapids

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright recently visited the construction site of a massive QTS Data Centers campus in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. QTS initially announced plans for the $10 billion project, encompassing seven data center buildings on over 600 acres in the Big Cedar Industrial Center, in August. Secretary Wright, speaking at the site, highlighted the facility's role in supporting artificial intelligence development and attracting further industries to the region, noting its potential to generate over 2,000 construction and permanent jobs. Officials described the undertaking as Iowa's largest industrial project.
