The Valley North Project involves the construction of a new 260-mile-long, 765,000-volt transmission line that would extend from Frederick County, Maryland, to Putnam County, West Virginia. The proposed route, which is not yet finalized, would connect three substations, one of which is already in existence.
A public open house was hosted at Brunswick Fire Hall to provide information about the project and collect feedback from community members. Attendees at the event voiced various concerns regarding the transmission line proposal.
