Gov: Palm Beach County Commissioners, Palm Beach County Zoning Commission

The Palm Beach County Zoning Commission recently recommended denying "Project Tango," an artificial intelligence data center proposed for development on President Donald J. Trump Highway, near Loxahatchee Groves. This recommendation came after a public meeting where numerous residents voiced strong opposition to the project, citing concerns about noise and its proximity to an elementary school, which could impact students and staff.

Developer Ernie Cox, however, emphasized that design changes had been made to mitigate noise impacts. He also highlighted the significant economic benefits, estimating the data center would generate hundreds of millions of dollars annually in ad valorem tax revenue. Despite the Zoning Commission's advisory denial, the Palm Beach County Commissioners are still slated to cast the final vote on Project Tango on July 15th, making the Zoning Commission's decision merely a recommendation.
