Amidst this discussion, Knoxville-based data center TenHats has showcased a proactive approach to energy efficiency. Through the TVA EnergyRight program, TenHats collaborated with FLUIX AI, a San Francisco startup with ties to Tennessee, to optimize its operational facility. FLUIX AI's platform, A.I.M.I., functions as an autopilot system for data center cooling, anticipating temperature changes rather than reacting to them.
The implementation of A.I.M.I. at TenHats resulted in a 6.6% improvement in Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and zero service disruptions over several months. FLUIX founder Abhishek "Abhi" Sastri noted that these efficiency gains could free up significant power capacity, potentially supporting additional computing and generating substantial economic value. TenHats has opted to keep A.I.M.I. in continuous control of its cooling systems, demonstrating the success of the project.
This partnership, supported by TVA EnergyRight, exemplifies efforts to explore AI-driven solutions for sustainable data center growth across the Tennessee Valley.
