Nvidia, through its CEO Jensen Huang, has defended the deal, asserting that it does not represent circular financing. Huang explained that Nvidia is leveraging its scale and long-term market visibility to support the construction of necessary infrastructure, acknowledging the significant hurdles of land, power, and financing for data centers. The company believes its strong position allows it to help startups acquire essential resources, ultimately fostering the growth of AI "factories.

However, skeptics express concern regarding the true demand for these facilities, questioning why AI startups are unable to secure independent funding for such projects. Nvidia, having generated tens of billions in sales recently, has increasingly acted as an anchor investor in various AI initiatives, claiming it understands the demand from these startups it works with. Yet, the financing structure continues to fuel worries about the industry's financial underpinnings.
