Opposition group says $4.1M PNK benefit plan is 'insufficient'
A citizen group in Union County is opposing PNK Group's proposed data center in Gregg Township. The group deems PNK's $4.1 million community benefit plan "insufficient" amidst ongoing public hearings and the project's location in a Commercial Manufacturing Zoning District.
The Gregg Twp-Unite Against Data Centers Group in Union County, Pennsylvania, continues to voice strong opposition to a proposed data center development by PNK Group. Resident Kristen Snader, representing the citizen group, issued a public statement critiquing PNK's announced $4.1 million community benefit plan, deeming it "insufficient." The planned data centers are designated for the Commercial Manufacturing Zoning District within the Great Stream Commons industrial park in Allenwood.
The project is currently undergoing public scrutiny, including a recent public hearing where experts provided testimony. John Michael Spencer, president and principal consultant of JMS Acoustics, spoke as the township's acoustic expert, while Attorney Brett Flower, special counsel for the township, was also present. Earlier, Brian Meeley from PNK Group had discussed the proposed data center during an open house event.
