Norwalk-based 365 Data Centers announced a partnership with Florida-based real estate investment firm Aphorio Carter to develop approximately 200 megawatts of high-density data centers nationwide, targeting AI workloads and other advanced applications.
The companies have signed letters of intent for two priority locations in Aurora, Colorado, and Simpsonville, Kentucky, and are pursuing additional sites, including one in Trumbull, Connecticut. Other potential markets include Louisville, Kentucky; Harrisonburg, Virginia; and Columbus, Ohio. These projects are anticipated to come online within nine to 24 months.
Derek Gillespie, CEO of 365 Data Centers, stated that the partnership positions the company to meet the growing demand for AI infrastructure. The Trumbull project is in its early stages, with specific property details and timelines yet to be disclosed, pending final contracts and internal approvals.
This development occurs as Connecticut lawmakers are weighing two bills: one to eliminate existing tax incentives for data centers and another to mandate that large new electricity users, including data centers, supply their own power generation. The legislative session concludes soon, and the current status of these bills was not immediately clear.
