Local residents like Chris Tyler, a longtime resident, expressed fears that a large data center project would destroy local wildlife habitats and convert valuable land into concrete. Colleen Campbell, a Shawnee County resident and co-founder of Protect Kansas, echoed these concerns, stating that such facilities could "destroy our farms" and highlighting that "you can't eat data centers." Both advocated for residents to realize their collective voice in the ongoing data center discussion, particularly regarding a proposed 607-acre development. The bus's next stop is Colorado Springs.
