LS Electric, a South Korean electrical equipment maker, announced a 319 billion-won (US$216.5 million) deal to provide power distribution systems to Bloom Energy, a U.S. energy solutions firm. This contract is for an unnamed U.S. big tech company's hyperscale data center in New Mexico. Bloom Energy has partnered with Oracle, a global cloud service provider, for its artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing infrastructure, which this project supports. The agreement follows a recent 106.6 billion-won contract secured by LS Power Solution, an LS Electric subsidiary, to supply transformers for another large-scale data center in the central United States. LS Electric chairman Koo Ja-kyun highlighted the rising investment in North American power infrastructure, attributing it to the surging electricity demand from the AI boom, and expressed the company's ambition to further expand its regional presence.
