Oregon City voters elected Adam Marl, 26, as the city’s first Asian American mayor and youngest mayor. Marl, a former city commissioner, said his priorities include addressing homelessness, housing challenges and the rising cost of living. He is scheduled to be sworn in in January.

The election came one day before Oregon City enacted a 120-day moratorium on new data center applications. The pause applies to five industrial and mixed-use zones while city staff audit existing codes and draft regulations governing future data center development. Marl also highlighted the planned redevelopment of the former Blue Heron Paper Mill site into Tumwata Village through a partnership between Oregon City and the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.
