A zoning hearing for three proposed power plants in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, has been rescheduled. These power plants, sought by firms tied to Kriger Construction Inc., are proposed for the same Bell Mountain sites where data center applications by a related firm were recently denied by the Dickson City Zoning Hearing Board. An appeal against the borough's data center zoning standards is currently active in county court.

A Dickson City Zoning Hearing Board meeting to discuss three proposed power plants on Bell Mountain has been rescheduled to June 10. Firms connected to Kriger Construction Inc., operating as Dickson City Power One LLC, Dickson City Power Two LLC, and Dickson City Power Three LLC, are seeking approvals for these "power generation facilities.

The proposed power plants align with locations where Dickson City Development LLC, another Kriger-linked firm, recently had four data center applications denied by the zoning board. Additionally, on May 20 and 27, the board denied appeals by Dickson City Development LLC to overturn the borough's zoning standards for data centers and its earlier denials for the data center projects. Kriger Construction Vice President David Stiles is listed as the contact for the power plant applications.

The applications for the power plants, which provide minimal details regarding power generation, emissions, or fuel type, will be reviewed as special exceptions under the borough's residential open space (ROS) zoning district. Property owners include Scranton Circle Drive In Company Inc., Fore Up Realty (linked to Kriger President Jim Marzolino), and Mountainview DC Realty LLC (linked to Alfred Kriger Jr., Marzolino’s uncle).

Dickson City Development LLC has an ongoing appeal against Dickson City's data center zoning in the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas, retaining the option to further appeal the recent denials.
