Amazon announced plans to invest $10 billion in a new data center campus in Montgomery County, Missouri. The project, which will involve constructing several buildings to house thousands of servers, is already underway in Montgomery City.

This new development comes as Montgomery City, a community of approximately 2,800 people, is also set to host a massive new Google data center. Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe stated that the Amazon data center will create 400 jobs, adding to Amazon's existing 10,000 employees across Missouri.

While work is progressing, residents expressed concerns about the extensive use of water and electricity by these data centers. Governor Kehoe addressed these concerns, asserting that Amazon's water usage is minimal compared to other local activities, such as golf courses, and emphasized the economic benefits and job creation for the community and the state.
