Dennison Twp. meets to discuss Blooming Dreams data center
Blooming Dreams Development is seeking a curative amendment to Dennison Township’s zoning ordinance to allow a hyperscale data center, though it has not yet submitted a formal construction proposal. More than 50 residents attended a public meeting, with several expressing concerns about property values, project documentation and the potential effects of the development.
More than 50 residents attended a Dennison Township meeting in White Haven to question Blooming Dreams Development representatives about the company’s effort to amend the township’s zoning ordinance for a planned hyperscale data center. Blooming Dreams has not submitted a formal construction application but argues the existing ordinance is exclusionary and would prevent its larger-scale project from being economically viable.
Township attorney Eric Brown questioned Blooming Dreams expert witness David Wright about the ordinance and the project’s need for large buildings. Residents, Food & Water Watch organizer Ginny Marcille Kerslake and state Rep. Jamie Walsh raised concerns about property values, potential impacts on homeowners and the quality of materials presented by the developer. A second public meeting is scheduled for Nov. 23.
