A special Festus City Council Meeting saw several hundred people in attendance at the Festus High School gymnasium, primarily to oppose a proposed data center. Approximately 60 individuals were listed to speak, with the vast majority expressing opposition to the project and its developer, CRG. Festus resident John Youmans, among others, questioned the project's timeline. The meeting lasted over four hours, and the city council did not take a vote on the developmental agreement for the data center. A vote is anticipated to take place at a subsequent meeting on Monday, March 30th.
