TexAmericas Center announced Project Big Pine, a media technology center being developed in Bowie County. Scott Norton, Executive Director for TexAmericas, stated that Project Big Pine is designed to attract large manufacturing industries, including data centers, to the region. The center has approximately 500 acres available for development, specifically targeting projects that require substantial power. Norton emphasized that prospective clients are looking for readily available property that is under control and has secure power options. He noted that clients would not solely rely on the traditional electric grid for power, with plans including battery operations and other alternative power solutions. Officials reported that at least six companies have already expressed interest in the site. Project Big Pine is projected to bring an estimated $3.5 billion in investments to the community, streamlining the development process by shortening the planning timeframe for companies to construct facilities and commence operations.
