Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has expanded an investigation into data center developments across Texas by sending letters to 156 facilities. The recipients were instructed to provide current and accurate information about their water use, following concerns that some developments had not responded to a Texas Water Development Board survey.

The facilities are located in counties including Bexar, Dallas, Denton, Harris, Travis, Tarrant and Williamson. Paxton said the investigation is intended to ensure data center developers comply with state law and do not impose unlawful burdens on taxpayers or threaten critical water resources. The investigation remains ongoing, and the article says no findings of wrongdoing have been made.
