A federal judge temporarily lifted bans preventing six plaintiffs from attending Memphis City Council meetings. The council is scheduled to revisit a proposed data center moratorium, amid opposition from residents and State Rep. Justin J. Pearson.
A federal judge temporarily lifted restrictions barring six plaintiffs from attending Memphis City Council meetings ahead of the council's upcoming session. The plaintiffs had been prohibited from attending, but may now participate while the court considers the dispute.
The council is expected to revisit a proposed moratorium on data center development. State Rep. Justin J. Pearson, speaking outside City Hall, portrayed the court action as a victory for public opposition to data centers and criticized city officials for attempting to silence dissent.
