Paxton Instructs Data Centers To Provide Up To Date Reporting On Water
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sent letters to 156 data center developers directing them to provide current and regular reports on water usage. The action follows an investigation into developments that did not respond to a Texas Water Development Board survey and affects projects across 32 Texas counties.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sent letters to 156 data center developers requiring up-to-date and recurring reporting on their water consumption. The developments are located across 32 counties, including Bexar, Dallas, Denton, Harris, Travis, Tarrant and Williamson counties.
The letters follow an investigation launched by Paxton into data center developments that failed to respond to a water-use survey conducted by the Texas Water Development Board. Paxton said developers must comply with state law and account for the effects of their operations on Texas communities.
