Demonstrators protested against the Project Blue data center construction in Tucson, Arizona, citing concerns over its potential draw on local water and energy resources. Beale Infrastructure, the company behind the project, secured permits to drill two wells after reaching a renewed agreement with Pima County to ensure water rights are secured through the Arizona Department of Water Resources.

On May 28, 2026, demonstrators actively protested the Project Blue data center construction site at S. Houghton Road and E. Brekke Road in Tucson, Arizona. The protest, led in part by Winn Chavez and members of the No Desert Data Center Coalition like Reed Spurling, focused on the data center's potential strain on the desert region's water and energy resources.

Beale Infrastructure, the developer of Project Blue, had previously secured permits to drill two wells on the property. Following public backlash regarding water consumption, Beale Infrastructure and Pima County entered a renewed agreement in December. This agreement stipulated that Beale Infrastructure must secure water rights through the Arizona Department of Water Resources before proceeding. Despite this agreement, opposition remains active at the construction site, with crews from Hark Drilling, Inc. also present.
